Week 19 - Mango

Woohoo! 19 weeks!!! In 1 week, we will officially be at the half-way mark! Time seems to be going by so slowly when I think about how long I have to meet you... but then when I look back and realize how much time has passed by - I'm amazed.

This week you are the size of a mango - which funny enough, is the fruit that daddy and I have been having all week. :) You may be the size of a mango, but mommy's tummy is much bigger than that! People seem to be noticing a lot this week and staring. I can't wait until you are here so people can stop staring at mommy's belly and stare at your beautiful face. :)

The highlight of this week was feeling you kick for the first time! (!!!!!!!!!!!!) I've been feeling 'popping popcorn' sensations, but on Tuesday night when I got into bed - I felt something hard on the left side, and I guess that was you... because I poked it and it/you moved. It almost felt like a muscle spasm, but not as fast. It's so hard to describe. I was a little in shock because at first I was like - woah what's going on... then couldn't stop smiling and rubbing my tummy. I told daddy and he seems bummed to have missed it, so now he constantly has his hand on my tummy - hoping that you'll kick him too! ;) I haven't felt you too much these past few days, but the doctor says that's normal and it could be at least another week before I feel you regularly. What an amazing feeling. <3 I keep rubbing and poking my tummy to get you moving, but daddy says to stop bothering you, and you'll show off your kicks again when you're ready. ;)

I've been running (literally) to the bathroom more frequently this past week. I feel like my bladder is the size of a pea, and you're using it as a punching bag! At least it gets me walking around the office during the day. =P

Speaking of walking, my feet have been aching a lot this past week. It started a little last week, but this week it's gotten a bit worse. They're a little swollen - not too noticeable, until I try to put on certain shoes. I'll need to talk to the doctor to see what I can do to help. Does walking more help? Or does it help by staying off my feet?

This weekend, daddy says he's going to paint your room! We originally planned for a neutral gray with pink accents, but as I have mentioned plenty of times - you have daddy wrapped around your teeny-tiny fingers, and he decided to go with pink; a pretty pink room for a pretty little princess! We're hoping to have your room done by mommy's birthday, which is next month. We got your furniture in, so once the paint is dry - that's next on our list. :)

Love you so much, my little one. <3
