26 Weeks - Kale

TWENTY-SIX WEEKS BABY!!! Woohoo. You are now the size of an eggplant 🍆 or kale. Mommy feels you move around in her tummy every day and gets worried when you're resting - since you're usually so active. I joked to daddy that you were having a party in there this morning - either celebrating mommy's birthday or throwing a fit - because you were a little squirmy worm!!! Daddy and I just laid in bed this morning and enjoyed feeling you move around. I'm surprised his cheeks don't hurt from smiling so much. You are the love of his life... his everything. 😍

The big update this week is that mommy doesn't have gestational diabetes!!! Whew - what a huge relief. I had to take the test during my last appointment - and since it was unexpected (they didn't tell me until 5 minutes into the appointment), I didn't fast or anything. In was pleasantly surprised when they called me this week to let me know that everything was great. Sooooooooo happy!

This week I have been really stressed out about my weight. I didn't think it would be this difficult to get used to & feel comfortable with my changing body - especially after wanting & trying to get pregnant for so many years. At 6.5 months I've gained almost 20 lbs and I feel like a whale. Daddy reassures me that I obviously look pregnant & have only gained weight on my belly (and boobs) - but I can't help but look at myself and feel so ugly and FAT. I need to remind myself every day that this is only temporary and I will go back to my old self - or better yet, drop all the weight AND more!

As my belly gets bigger, it is definitely getting harder and harder for me to paint my own toenails. Daddy treated me to a nice relaxing pedicure this morning for my birthday and it was amaaaaaazing!

Grandma and grandpa should be back from Korea in a week or so - just in time for the baby shower! Mommy and daddy are so excited to see everyone at the baby shower, and can't wait to celebrate... YOU! 💗

*A* -- Daddy and I are counting down the weeks until we can finally meet you. We love you so much. Thank you for bringing so much joy into our lives. Our hearts are so full.

Kitsune and Juju checking out the stroller!

So far, no issues with the stroller! Everyone is very curious & likes the follow it. The real test will be when baby girl is here and we are outside - leashes and all.

Daddy daughter snuggles

I have been a little worried because baby girl's movements have decreased a LOT in the past 24 hours... (Honestly, David was freaking out...) This morning, David put his head on my tummy and as he talked to her, she started kicking again! Total daddy's girl. What a little stinker - making me worry...

The dogs got to check out baby girl's gear. :)

David is all, "don't let them near it, dog hair is so hard to get out!" I'm all, "let them explore!" 😂😂

😂

The nursery is almost done!

I just need to get the crib mattress, new curtains, put up the name sign I made for her, and then the nursery will be d-o-n-e!!!

Baby girl's new car seat!

25 Weeks - Cauliflower

TWENTY-FIVE WEEKS BABY!!! Woohoo. You are now the size of a cauliflower. =P Mommy feels you move around in her tummy every day and loves is so much. Daddy lights up when you kick for him - so keep it up! One request: if you could leave mommy's bladder alone instead of punching it non-stop like you always do, it would be much appreciated. :)

This week, I had a standard 4 week check-up and was very pleased. To be honest, I have really been stressing about my weight these past few weeks and getting fixated on numbers. At my appointment, I found out that I only gained 2 lbs this month, yay! They said 2-3 lbs/month is good. Out of curiosity, I asked how much I gained last time and they said over EIGHT lbs. Yikes! They reassured me that it was very normal for women to gain a lot around 20 weeks, but to make sure I keep it down to 2-3 for the remainder of my pregnancy.

I got to hear your heartbeat this week, which seemed fast! The doctor said that it was within normal range (150) and that it was a little faster than normal since I had just finished the sugary drink for the glucose screening. Speaking of, I am terrified of gestational diabetes. Fingers crossed that I don't have it! I'll find out either later today or sometime next week. I had to wait 2+ hours at the doctor this past week because of a mix up between the staff - but at the end of the day, I'm glad that I didn't have to make another appointment and miss even more work just to have that taken care of.

Everything is growing; my hair, my nails, my boobs, and of course my belly! =P Mommy loves maternity clothes and pretty much lives in t-shirts and leggings -- dresses during the work week, and when I have the energy to maneuver over my belly to shave my legs. Speaking of maneuvering, it's getting harder and harder for me to paint my own toenails, but I'm trying to save $$$ since in a few weeks - it will be impossible to do it myself. I guess I can think of DIY pedicures as yoga sessions too. =P

As my tummy grows (which hopefully indicates that you are growing too - and it's not just me getting fatter!), it's getting harder to get comfortable when it's time for bed. Thank god for the snoogle because I sure miss sleeping on my back! It helps to snuggle with the snoogle, and have something to rest my belly on. I've been trying to get a little more sleep - might as well before the third trimester creeps up and I am getting up more often to pee! I still take my 1 hour naps after work, then sleep for about 4-5 hours at night. I am just so productive at night and want to take advantage of this 2nd trimester energy... it's hard to go to bed early. Okay, next week I'll try harder!

The heartburn has been better, and my feet aren't as fat this week. My feet are still a bit swollen, but wearing flip flops to work (to avoid any constricting shoes) has really helped. I keep them elevated when I can, and wear compression socks at home. I am hoping the weather cools down soon so I can wear boots to work (to hide my compression socks). Overall, I'm feeling pretty great this week!

Grandma and grandpa left for Korea this morning! They'll be back in a few weeks - just in time for the baby shower. Grandma is really excited about getting you a custom hanbok (Korean traditional dress) - for your 100 day celebration and of course, your 1st birthday. I can't wait to see it. I bet it's going to be so beautiful! <3

Speaking of beautiful - your nursery is d-o-n-e! Well, not 100% since we still need to put up new curtains and clean, BUT we finished the decorations. Mommy put up silver polka dot decals to add some fun to the room, and really loves how it turned out. So much love has gone into your nursery. I always laugh thinking about what the neighbors must have thought when I was painting since I had to remove the curtains, and was painting with my big belly hanging out of my tank top, ha! I was a hot mess - sweat and fat with a big belly hanging out, but hey -- the painting got done!;)

Mommy still loves to lay down after work and rub her tummy to feel you moving around. I've also noticed this week that when I eat foods that I am *really* craving (like Thai food or kabob), you move around like crazy! Speaking of moving, you're doing cartwheels in mommy's belly right now. I love it when I can feel you at work. Often times, people walk by my office and see me with my hand on my tummy. =P Oh yeah, this week daddy started talking about your future brother or sister. He loves you so much already that he wants to make sure you have a friend-for-life and don't grow up alone. I reassured him you will be fine because you have your fur-siblings, and to calmmmmmm down because you aren't even here yet. :) We'll see what happens... For now, you are our number 1 priority.

*A* -- In about 3 months, daddy and I will finally be able to meet you! Wow. I get choked up thinking about how far along we are. It seems like just yesterday I took a pregnancy test after noticing that Woodrow was being different and thought it was weird that I fell asleep during Greys Anatomy (my FAVORITE show so I *never* fall asleep!). I remember the feeling of shock and pure joy seeing those two lines - especially after losing your what-would-have-been brother or sister just a little over 2 months prior. Wow, just wow. It really seems like it was just yesterday when I took that test - along with MANY others (just to make extra sure, ha!). We loved you from the moment we saw you on the screen at 4+ weeks, and heard your heartbeat at 6.5 weeks. We are so excited and talk about you every single day. We are excited. Your grandparents are excited. Your aunt is excited. Mommy and daddy's coworkers are excited. Mommy and daddy's neighbors are excited. Mommy and daddy's friends are excited. We have all been waiting a long time for you. You aren't even here yet and are so loved. <3

Baby girl's first gift :)

Baby girl's first gift! Thank you auntie Kym and uncle Douglas❤️

Week 24 - Cantalope

Happy 24 weeks my little cantaloupe/eggplant! :)This week, you are about a foot long and almost 1.5 lbs! You are no longer my "little bean", and growing so quickly! Speaking of growing - mommy's tummy has definitely gotten bigger, rounder, and harder. Daddy is happy. Mommy (and the scale) are not. =P

I can now feel you moving around every day, and can even *see* when you kick. Daddy got to feellast weekend and I thought he was going to explode into a pile of a million hearts. He was soooooooooo incredibly happy and couldn't stop smiling. Grandma even got to feel you kick - after mommy poked you for a good 30 minutes. ;) My favorite part of the day is still coming home from work, giving your fur-siblings their dinner/lots of loving, then laying down to feel your kicks. No matter how rough my day was, feeling you in my tummy *always* makes it better. Thank you for bringing so much joy into daddy and mommy's lives. <3

This week, mommy and daddy got a new washer & dryer delivered/installed (can't wait to wash all your little clothes in a few months!) and your auntie Jade and I have been planning the details of mommy's baby shower next month. A lot of the 'prep' for your arrival has been done for several weeks - and now we are waiting for the shower, and then will be patiently waiting for your arrival in December/January. (Grandma thinks you will be here in early December. Not sure if she was insinuating that mommy's belly is huge, or that it's because you are so active already... I think the first one... =P

This week, I have been really stressed out about weight gain (what's new?). I actually cried after I stepped on the scale a few days ago. So... I am now decreasing the amount of calories I consume, increasing my exercise (hope the doctor is okay with this...), and trying not to gain any more weight for the remaining 3-4 months. I'll have to get the OK from my doctor next week, but considering how big I am already - I'm sure she'll be fine with this. (fingers crossed)

Oh! I almost forgot -- the heartburn! Owwieeeee. I've had horrible heartburn this week. I've heard that really bad heartburn means that the baby will have a lot of hair. If that's the case, baby girl will come out with a little Asian afro. Seriously...

Your brother *still* loves to boop mommy's belly and say hello to you, and even taught Juju how to do it! Kitsune prefers to just lay on mommy's tummy. Btw - she gave mommy the stink eye when she was laying on me a few day ago because she felt you kick! You guys are already competing for attention... ;)

I've been playing music even more this past week, and so far you seem to enjoy Queen, RHCP, Amy Winehouse, and Mariah Carey. Also, I started talking to you more (even though it makes me feel so silly and ridiculous) and you've been more and more responsive. Maybe it's all in my head and it's just a coincidence, but I have noticed that you move around/kick a lot more when mommy talks to you. Love love love. <3

Speaking of noise, sorry about that weird noise you hear every night. That's your daddy snoring. Get used to it because it'll be even louder when you are out of mommy's tummy. =P

This week, the swelling has gone down in my feet. There's still a little bit of swelling but no where near as bad as they were last week (and the week before). I've been keeping my feet elevated at work, wearing flip flops on certain days (since all my other shoes feel so uncomfortable!), and wearing compression socks at home. Goodbye cankles! No one likes you. ;)

*A* -- mommy loves you so very much and can't wait to meet you. <3 Just the thought of finally meeting you and holding you in my arms makes me so emotional. I can't believe that in just a few months, you'll be here. You are so loved by so many people already... :)

<< Sorry if this post is all over the place. I'm at work and trying to keep up with the group messaging between my mom and mother-in-law about the baby shower, ha. >>
