Week 17 - Pomegranate
We made it to week 17 baby girl!
This week you are putting some meat and fat on your bones! (Hopefully you aren't as fat as mommy and daddy, heh.) You're almost 6 ounces now, which is how much your fur-sisters eat a day (haha). I am quickly starting to put on the weight (7-10 lbs so far) - which daddy gets excited about since he says he likes when he can see mommy's tummy (aka: you!). By 20 weeks, the doctor says you will be fully formed and mommy will be much rounder.
Mommy and daddy finally got to hear your heartbeat this week, which was very strong in the 140's. You were in the 160's several weeks ago but the doctor said it's normal for it to go down as you grow bigger. This week, daddy and I scheduled the big 20-week appointment for next month, and can't wait to see you wiggle around!
My allergies were really bad earlier this week, but have gotten better with extra cleaning around the house and (unfortunately) not letting KitJuWoo sleep in the bedroom. I've been making it up to them with extra snuggles on the couch while watching Netflix.
HELLO HORMONES! This past week, the crazy hormones finally kicked in. I am either insanely happy or am in tears. Pretty much everything makes me cry now; my weight gain, random videos on YouTube, not being able to go hiking with KitJuWoo, taking too long of a nap, spilling something, my allergies, etc. What a roller coaster ride this week has been. The week is wrapping up, and I am feeling much more positive. Thank GOD, because I think the dogs are freaked out seeing me randomly burst into tears while sitting on the steps. (Seriously... I'm not kidding.)
This week, I've been putting ear phones on my tummy - blasting classical music. I *think* I felt you a few times, but I'm not entirely sure. I'm hoping in the upcoming days/weeks, I can feel you move around more. Daddy says I need to stop poking my tummy because I'm bothering you. Yup, you totally have him wrapped around your teeny-tiny fingers already. I swear I see hearts in his eyes when he talks about you.
Love you, AKK.

Week 16 - Avocado
We made it to week 16 - woohoo! This is a huge milestone for us, especially after suffering a loss back in February. Our sweet #rainbowbaby is healthy and very comfy in mommy's belly.
:) We love her so much; hubby, me, and even KitJuWoo! (They love snuggling with me and laying their head on my tummy - even Juju, who's normally fiercely independent and doing her own thing...)
<3
At week 16, my baby apps say that the little one is the size of an avocado or a pomegranate or the length of a pickle (mmm pickles...).
The little one can now hear, so mommy and daddy are watching their mouths not to say too many bad words.
=P The little ons is also growing hair/lashes/eyebrows and even forming taste buds! Crazy.
My allergies have gotten a lot better, but there are still some days where I am absolutely miserable and want to scream into a pillow. Although my doctor said allergy pills (Benedryl, Claritin, and Zyrtec) are safe - I've tried my best to avoid taking them. I've switched to local honey, a cup of rooibos tea every night, and some hot steam on my face - and it's been manageable.
My tummy has definitely "popped" but I haven't felt comfortable enough to post any baby bump photos because some days I look "obviously pregnant" (as hubby says), and other days it looks like I've had too many burritos. I was struggling a lot with "popping" so early since so many women mentioned that they didn't start showing until 20+ weeks, but I am starting to feel a lot more comfortable and just embrace the bump.
Last but not least - this is around the time (well, anywhere between now and ~20 weeks) where I'll be able to feel the little one moving around. Just thinking about it makes me emotional. I think once I feel those flutters, I'll truly feel pregnant. Every night, before I go to bed - I lay completely still and poke my tummy. So far, I haven't felt any movement. Either it's too early OR she's lazy like mommy and daddy.
;)
Love you princess.

Big Kitsune and little Kitsune
big Kitsune and little Kitsune - not sure who I am referring to when I say little Kitsune because my belly is growing by the day! PS, someone please tell David to stop calling the baby "Kitsune Jr"
